"Green Genius" 50 MW/200MWh BESS park

About project

In the Jēkabpils region of Latvia, the battery energy storage project developed by Green Genius is being expanded. While continuing construction of the first battery energy storage park, the Energia Futura team has also begun implementing the second phase of the project. Once both phases are completed, the project will reach a total power capacity of 50 MW and an energy storage capacity of 200 MWh.

Construction works on the first phase are already well underway, with all 28 battery containers and modular substations delivered to site. Infrastructure works are currently in progress, including the grid connection to the transmission network substation and preparations for the next stages of system integration. In the coming months, inverter and transformer installation works will begin, alongside the deployment of a hybrid energy management solution that will integrate the battery energy storage system with the adjacent solar park.

Upon completion, the 50 MW / 200 MWh battery energy storage system will become an integral part of a hybrid energy facility, contributing to greater grid flexibility and more efficient utilization of renewable energy resources.
