ALUFLAM’s extensive experience has shaped a responsible approach to even the smallest details, earning the Group’s companies worldwide recognition for quality and reliability. ALUFLAM EXTRUSION is no exception. Since the beginning of its operations, the company has been implementing quality management and assurance systems, process management methodologies, and the use of renewable energy in its operations.

Solution

The Energia Futura team installed a 549 kW rooftop solar power plant at the company’s production facility. After assessing the factory roof and taking into account the company’s relatively low instantaneous electricity consumption, it was decided to install the solar modules facing not only south, but also east and west. This allows solar energy to be generated more evenly from early morning until late evening. The chosen layout also helped meet the roof’s weight limitations while allowing a higher-capacity solar power plant to be installed within the available roof area.

The project features a high-quality CPX mounting system, Trina Solar modules and an optimized SolarEdge inverter system. The solution enables efficient electricity generation, arc-fault protection, safe voltage functionality and real-time monitoring of the solar power plant. In an optimized system, each module operates individually, meaning that performance losses caused by shading, dirt, degradation or a fault in one module do not affect the efficiency of the entire system.

The electricity generated by the solar power plant will help the company significantly reduce its carbon emissions while supplying renewable energy to its production processes.
