"Metmega" solar power plant 180 kW

About company

Metmega is a Lithuanian-owned company operating since 2008. The company manufactures custom metal products, including various types of semi-trailers, machinery transport platforms, equipment for peat extraction, attachments for telescopic and front loaders, as well as excavator digging and grading buckets. Metmega also provides CNC plasma cutting and sheet metal bending services.

The company’s operations require a high level of quality and precision. Its products are manufactured using certified components and high-strength materials supplied by established international manufacturers, including specialized HARDOX, DOMEX and RAEX steel sheets.

To reduce electricity costs and CO₂ emissions from its manufacturing operations, Metmega is continuously increasing the share of renewable energy used at its facilities.

About project

The Energia Futura team installed a 180 kW rooftop solar power plant at Metmega’s facility in Šiauliai. The building’s roof is well oriented towards the south, while an Esdec mounting system was used to raise the solar modules to an approximately 15-degree angle and further improve energy generation efficiency.

The project features Trina Solar Vertex modules and an optimized SolarEdge system with two inverters of different capacities.

The SolarEdge solution provides module-level monitoring, allowing both the company and maintenance specialists to track the performance of individual modules and quickly identify potential issues. The optimized system also detects temperature changes and can automatically shut down the system when necessary, helping reduce potential fire risks.

As the solar power plant exceeds 100 kW, a power limitation solution was also implemented through the TSPI system, integrating all of the company’s electricity connections and ensuring compliance with the limits specified in ESO grid connection requirements.
